2015 BMW 428i Gran Coupe | CarGurus Test Drive Review

there’s a reason for every season and a
BMW for every buyer at least it certainly seems like it. This
is the 2015 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe a four-door version of a two-door
version of a four-door car now that has all the possibility of a muddled
composition but like the 6-series Gran Coupe, this car is
an absolute stunner this Gran Coupe with more of a cruiser than the 2-door this version is longer,
lower, and wider than the 3-series and has all the makings to bring the
boys to the yard like the 3-series, the four series comes in two series
powertrain flavors turbocharged inline-4 or turbocharged inline-6 this particular model, a 428i, marries
the turbo four with an eight-speed automatic transmission there’s 240 horses coming from the busy
engine and 255 pound feet of torque which is more than enough for this car
so long as you’ve never drive the 435 It’s because that engine, which makes 300 horsepower, on paper is
not much faster but I have driven both cars back to back and the
six cylinder’s power is just more satisfying and direct now for cruiser it might make more
sense to pick the four just because you get
better fuel economy and it’s a little bit more laid back. The
six cylinder is made for really tail wagging coupes and it’s pretty awesome. To get
this particular model you’ll need to get the M Sport package,
cold weather package, driver assistance package, dynamic
handling package, premium package, technology package, these
are all starting to sound like each other basically $15,150 in packages gets you super cruiser unlike many others on the road Now underneath all those packages is
BMW’s super chassis. I know this car, I love
this car, I paid way too much every month to drive
one of these cars the 3-series and 4-series are
starting to visually separate from each other and both are better for it in Gran Coupe
for Mike this the four series is sleeker profile sedan with a sharper appearance onroad than
the 3 series. If you’re pressed for a budget and want a 4-series you get 17-inch alloy wheels, power front
seats, on-board computer, and that glove box is
standard. The car is actually a lot bigger inside than it looks from the
outside with the trunk open in the seats down
there’s not a whole lot that you cannot fit in the back, and it actually is much more spacious than looks. there are some benefits to the smaller
engine, however, namely fuel economy, 32 miles per gallon on the
highway is tempting and that fares well against the new
Mercedes C-Class prices for the 4-series start at $40,300.
While this Gran Coupe is $57,450 all told. There’s no one-size-fits-all
with the 4-series. Do you want a sporty coupe or
comfortable cruiser? Do you want fuel economy or more punch? And what about the 3-Series? My guess is BMW’s gonna make a car for all of those.

The 6 cylinder is heavier up front, with more of the weight in front of the axle, too.
